Glen Carbon is located approximately 19 miles northeast of St. Louis. It is home to about 13,000 residents. It was voted as one of the Top 100 Best Places to Live in the USA by CNNMoney.com  in 2009. This charming community is home to Miner’s Park, the Glen Carbon Heritage Museum, and the Yanda Log Cabin.

Residents enjoy miles of scenic bike trails and beautiful public parks. The Glen Carbon Heritage Bike Trail offers 11 miles of picturesque landscape. The village’s excellent parks offer sporting fields, picnic areas, playgrounds, walking and jogging trails, and conservation areas.

Glen Carbon’s small-town, community spirit is celebrated during GlenFest, an annual event held at Miner Park each September. Live music, food, fireworks and family fun are the hallmarks of this local festival.

Glen Carbon’s pioneer roots can be explored at the Glen Carbon Heritage Museum and the Yanda Log Cabin. These historical sites host several special events throughout the year.

Literary buffs take pride in the Glen Carbon Centennial Library, recognized as the “Best Small Library in America,” a distinction awarded by the Library Journal and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Quality healthcare is provided by Anderson Hospital, a 151-bed facility offering modern diagnostics and the latest in surgical techniques.

Glen Carbon has two Senior Living communities for adults aged 55 and better: Meridian Village and Eden Village. A variety of senior services and social opportunities are available at the Glen Carbon Senior Community Center.
