Swansea is a growing community located approximately 16 miles southeast of downtown St. Louis. It is home to about 11,000 residents, and neighbors nearby Belleville.

Swansea is a haven for commuters who desire the convenience of public transportation, but prefer the quiet life of a small community. Swansea’s Metrolink station connects travelers to the St. Louis International Airport, Scott Air Force Base, and many other locations throughout the Metro East area. Local schedule information is available at the St. Clair County Transit District website.

Residents of Swansea have easy access to big-city attractions, but there is also plenty to do close to home. A variety of shopping and dining options are just a few miles north at the St. Clair Square. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy Swansea’s access to the MCT trail system.

Swansea has four well-appointed community parks: the Melvin Price Memorial Park, the Schranz Memorial Park, the C. Herb Temple Memorial Park, and Centennial Park. The Norman Lehr Community Center is a popular gathering place for family reunions and parties. Other amenities include an off-leash dog park, equipped playgrounds, sports fields, a hockey arena, pavilions, and a splash pad for summer fun.

Quality medical care is very close to home. St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is a Bronze Award recipient for its Commitment to Excellence in medical services. Another highly-regarded medical provider is Memorial Hospital, ranked in the top 5% of the nation for emergency medical services. Specialized pediatric care is nearby at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center.

Public elementary and middle school education is provided by the Wolf Branch School District 113.
